You Can't Be Everything to Everybody
Updated: Jun 17, 2019

You can't be everything to everybody. You can't make their lives what you would like them to be. You can't make them act like you want them to, or talk like you want them to. You can't fight their battles. Some things they are going to have to experience for themselves. You need to stop hiding behind that tired old excuse. They need me.
No, they don't. You need to wake up. You are hiding. You are afraid to move to do what you are supposed to be doing, so you get all up in other people's issues, problems and concerns. I don't know if it is you are afraid of failing, or afraid of succeeding.
You think you are doing a good job at blending in. You're not. We see you sis. We see the discontent in your face. We hear it in your voice. We see you on edge, we see you about to break down. We see you wound as tight as can be.
You are about to break. You need to let it go. You cannot live for others. Your children will grow up and go their way, your husband has his own life and concerns, that don't always include you, the church will still stand without you at every program and on every committee. If these are your reasons for not doing what you are called to do, then you are doing yourself a great disservice. There are people out there who need what only you can give them, if you were walking in your purpose that is.
