Things you can do right now to protect your energy during the Corona Craze

It is going on week two for me of the mandatory Covid-19 lockdown. So far I am okay. It has given me the time to get some things accomplished that I normally don't have the "time" to do. So while the government is figuring it out, I am getting my life together. We are working remotely and I enjoy not having the commute time. If I want to work from the comfort of my bed, I can. I have my laptop. lapdesk and my cell phone. I'm good.

Some of my friends are not faring so well. They have what they call cabin fever. Being cooped up at home is starting to get to them. So as I spoke with several of them this week I listened to their complaints, and came up with a list of things that they, and you can do during this time. Now I don't have small children or even teen children in the home, so I can't really help you with entertaining the children. (insert smile) But I hope these tips help to relieve some of the stress you may be feeling at your imposed lockdown.

The first thing I noticed was that my friends were listening to the news all day. Whenever there was a news report, they were right there listening. Then they wanted to call me to keep me informed. A couple of them, and my sister included, just didn't understand why I was not interested. There is no need for me to get myself all stressed out and fearful over things that might or might not be true. So watch your energy during this time. Make sure you are not listening to all the gloom and doom reports. It's good to be informed, but you don't need to watch every time a news report comes on. Doing that brings about a spirit fear. Now is the time to practice your faith muscle.

Instead of focusing on the negative, take this time to listen to positive and uplifting music and information. Keep your conversations positive. Don't get on the phone with people and all you talk about is the state of affairs. What is closed, who is sick. What the President said. Let it go. Use this time to catch up on all of the things that you never have time to do. I have been reading, listening to podcasts, working on on-line lessons that I purchased but never got around to doing. I am also spring cleaning. This is your time to maybe write that book you always said you wanted to write, or start that exercise program that you are always too tired to do. There are so many things that you could be doing with this gift of time we have been given.

For those of you that have businesses, now is not the time to throw in the towel because you think that people are not going to purchase from you. Now is the time to work harder for your business. Be intentional. Use this time to reach out to your customers. Good customer service goes a long way. Create some new content, re-purpose some old. Evaluate your business and see what you can do to revamp things.

And of course, prayer changes things. Spend some time in prayer and worship. Read inspirational books. Listen to inspirational music and sermons.

You Tube is loaded with everything you need. There are sermons, music, lessons, etc. Find ways to stay positive during this time.

Stop letting your energy be vexed by what is going on around you.
