My 2021 Life Plan

We are nine days into the month and so far I have stayed on task. I don’t know if you do resolutions or not, but I kind of do a combo kind of thing. A little resolution, a little goal setting. Whatever I call it, it is basically a list of things that I want to get accomplished during the new year.

This year I called it my 2021 Life Plan. It is all about me and me getting a few things done. I am hopeful. You see last year I thought I had it going on. I had planned out my year for my personal life and my business. I had things on paper; thought out and scheduled. I had paid down payments to venues, bought plane tickets for a couple of events I had scheduled.

And then the world shut down and everything had to be cancelled. Well, this year my 2021 Life Plan can be done whether the world shuts down again or not. Because it is all about me and what I want to get done for me.

It’s not hard stuff. Really it isn’t. I just have to be consistent and make better choices. At the end of the year, I look back over the year and reflect on what changes I need to make. How many of you do that?

Anyway, this year I decided that I needed to make some changes to my health and fitness. I no longer can eat any and everything whenever I want. I can’t sit on my butt and not move my body. What I noticed was that it is not as easy to lose weight and that my joints are stiff. I am not as flexible as I want to be. I do not plan on being barely able to move and have a bunch of chronic diseases all because I ate a bunch of junk and didn’t exercise.

So I made my 2021 Life Plan that included me getting some fitness in every day. It includes me eating fruits and veggies and drinking more water. It includes taking time to relax and spending time with my family and friends. It has a lot of self-care in it. I want to enjoy life.

I keep myself accountable by sharing it with the ladies in my Facebook group. I find that when I share with others what I want to do, I am more inclined to get it done. There is something about accountability. Having that person or persons who will keep you on track is a good thing. If you don't have this accountability, I suggest you find someone that can be that person..

So, I am on day 9 and I am on track. My daily routine goes like this. My gratitude prayer before I even get out of bed. Then I do a walking video from You Tube, a stretching video, also from You Tube, my "I Am" affirmations and then a 3-5 minute meditation. I used to do these things at night, but I found that it was so easy for me to use working late or being tired as an excuse not to do it. No more excuses in 2021.

I noticed that when I start my day off this way, it sets the tone for the rest of the day. And I love checking that item off of my “to do” list once it is done. For me writing things down and checking them off at the end of the day feels good.

Whether you do resolutions or goals, let 2021 be the year that you do more things for you. You are worth it!
