Are you ready for your suddenly?

Recently the word "suddenly" dropped in my spirit. I don't remember what I was doing when it happened. I just remember pulling out my pen and journal and writing the word down. I actually wrote each letter in a different color ink and then circled several lines around the word. I wasn't sure why, but I knew that i would be coming back to the word and that it was going to have special meaning for me.

Fast forward, I was reading during my devotion time last week and there it was again. God working suddenly in a situation. There are a lot of suddenly situations in the Bible. Hmmm, I thought. There is a message for me here. This happened a few more times last week and each time I would write it down in my planner. I was thinking about how does this "suddenly" have meaning in my life? Then it hit me, there have been times in my life where opportunities came to me and I could not take advantage of them because I was not prepared. Sometimes it was a simple thing that prevented me from taking advantage of a great opportunity. Like the time I didn't have my passport updated and missed out on a gift cruise. Or,not having my files organized and not being able to find some information needed for a grant opportunity. You know those type of things. Little things, but those little things can be a deal breaker. So often we, (or maybe it's just me) just make do. I had gotten real good at re-creating something at the spur of the moment. And that is what this suddenly was reminding me. That God is going to cause things to happen suddenly and i need to be in order. I need to be ready.

Make sure that you have your things in order so that when your suddenly happens, you are ready to take advantage of every opportunity that is presented to you. If you need to get that certification, get it. If you need to update your resume, do it. If you need to organize and file. Do it. Whatever it is, don't miss your "suddenly"
